The Visual Agile Coach Problem Solving - No Mystery
The Visual Agile Coach Problem Solving – no mystery.
Problem solving is what we do – day in, day out.
Too often we run headfirst into problem solving and when this is a constant firefighting scenario – you will suffer burnout.
Let’s not burnout, let’s relax and have fun and play a board game.
When to use
At the start of an iteration, assignment or project when the team has identified problems and challenges to solve.
The team is running into problems and needs to take time out to solve them
When designing a new product, service or solution - that solves a customer problem or meets a customer need.
Are you ready to play?
You will need:
A problem – maybe it’s the Elephant in the Room or there is a bucket load of smaller problems to choose from.
Detectives – or subject matter experts, whose knowledge and insights will not only dissect the problem but solve it too.
Time – give yourself and your team time to really understand and solve the problem.
Visual Agile Coaching Tips
Problem solving can be completed alone but there is a far greater chance of cracking the code with a diverse team of engaged subject matter experts.
Mix it up – try playing with mixed teams from across the business – solving a problem from a diverse range of viewpoints i.e. not just Product looking at a Product problem.
Add some gamesmanship: A quick game is a good game – inject some time pressure to focus minds.
Encourage teams to move into different rooms for a different perspective or adopt a new Persona to keep things fresh.
