Reddit Retro
Time for a Reddit Retro!
Icebreaker
Avatar and Username Creation: Begin by having each participant create a unique avatar and a (fake) username. This step helps break the ice and sets a playful tone for the session.
Principal Activity
POST: Participants will post messages on nine different threads related to the last sprint. Allocate nearly 10-15 minutes for this activity. Encourage honesty and creativity in sharing thoughts about what went well, challenges faced, and any other observations. Thread Descriptions :
/todayilearned = Team members share new knowledge, skills or ideas acquired in the last weeks
/upliftingnews = Team members highlight the positive results, achievements or collaborative moments that have taken place in the last few weeks
/midlyinfuriating = This section is dedicated to discussing any minor inconveniences, obstacles or inefficiencies encountered that have not significantly impacted progress but could be improved
/lifeprotips = Team members share practical tips, shortcuts or best practices they've discovered that could benefit the whole team
/tifu = A safe space for team members to discuss mistakes or missteps they have made
/unexpected = Team members share the surprising results or unexpected challenges they have encountered
/nostupidquestions = Team members can ask questions about processes, tools, tasks...just about anything
/whatcouldgowrong = The team discusses the potential risks it expects to encounter in the coming weeks
wholesomememes = To share memes, just a bonus!
COMMENTS: After posting, participants will spend 5-10 minutes commenting on each other's posts across the different threads. This step is crucial for fostering dialogue and understanding diverse perspectives.
Discussion: Conclude with an open discussion about the various posts and comments. This part of the retrospective allows for deeper insights and collective problem-solving.
Action Items
Creating Action Items: Based on the discussions, collaboratively write down action items to address in the next sprint! I hope your team will like this template! :)
