#KanbanCakes - The Kanban Simulation

Report

Deliver a Kanban Training:

KanbanCakes is a group activity designed to learn Kanban in a fun way. The exercise involves simulating the process of a bakery, analyzing metrics, and improving the flow incrementally.

KanbanCakes delivers excellent results. Prepare to see many aha-moments when they truly grasp how Kanban works, including the pull system, WIP limits, and the meaning of Kanban's core practices like "managing flow."

The activity is carried out in iterations representing workdays at the bakery (usually two iterations). Each iteration includes simulation, flow observation, results and metrics, retrospectives, and concepts to improve the flow.

End the exercise with a group-generated conclusion based on their experience. Use this opportunity to reflect on the Kanban Principles and emphasize the importance of focusing on delivering value to the customer.

This simulation is not intended to be a scientific demonstration of how Kanban works but rather an interactive and educational activity to understand the concepts through practice.
