Delegation Poker - Practice Board

Report

Welcome to the Delegation Poker - Practice Board in Miroverse!

This board is designed to help you master the art of delegation through an engaging and interactive exercise. Here’s how it works and what you’ll find on the board:

What is Delegation Poker? Delegation Poker is a collaborative game that helps teams clarify who should make decisions and to what extent. It’s a fantastic way to practice delegating tasks and responsibilities within a controlled environment and to enhance your team's decision-making and communication skills.

What’s on the Board?

  1. Delegation Levels—The board features seven delegation levels, ranging from “Tell” (where you make the decision and inform others) to “Delegate” (where you hand over the decision-making entirely). These levels will guide how you and your team handle each scenario.

  2. Pre-defined Cases – You’ll find various scenarios that require different delegation levels. Each case challenges you to decide how much authority should be given to others based on the situation.

  3. Character Cards – Detailed profiles of different team members who will influence how decisions are made. Each character has unique motivations and perspectives, which will affect their preferred level of delegation.

  4. Delegation Board – This is where you’ll record your group’s decisions. Place your group’s star on the board to indicate the agreed-upon delegation level for each case.

  5. Poker Cards – Use these cards to privately select your preferred delegation level for each scenario. Once everyone has made their choice, you’ll reveal your cards and discuss the reasoning behind your decisions.

How to Use the Board:

  1. Read the Cases – Start by reviewing each pre-defined scenario.

  2. Choose Your Delegation Level – Select the level that you believe is appropriate for each case and record it on your poker card.

  3. Discuss and Decide – Reveal your cards, discuss the rationale behind your choices, and reach a consensus on the delegation level.

  4. Document Your Decision – Place your group’s star on the Delegation Board to indicate the agreed-upon level.

Objective: The goal is to practice and understand the nuances of delegation. By working through these scenarios, you’ll gain insight into how different delegation levels impact decision-making and team dynamics.

Dive in, collaborate with your team, and explore how different delegation levels can be applied to real-world situations. Enjoy the process and learn how to delegate effectively!
