Let me tell you how we empower our Mironeers to excel and lead in this dynamic landscape!
Our employee enablement approach
At Miro, we view employee enablement as a continuous journey built around three core pillars, Educate, Inspire, and Empower.
Educate: We’re making AI knowledge accessible and exciting for everyone. Our mission is to build a strong foundation of AI understanding while sparking curiosity and practical skill development.
We kicked things off with an AI Learning Hub on our internal platform, packed with essential concepts and best practices. In parallel, we launched a 10-week mini-course, “Hey Miro, it’s AI,” delivering weekly content straight to everyone’s inbox. This course offered a deep dive into AI, featuring use cases, videos from our AI champions, and practical applications — all in a fun, easy-to-digest format. The response was fantastic, with a consistent open rate of around 60%, proving just how eager our Mironeers were to engage!
To ensure no one faced a “cold start” with how to use AI, we also introduced the “Prompt Library”, a one-stop-shop for ready-to-use prompts. It’s been a hit! The library has become a go-to resource for Mironeers of all experience levels, with consistently high usage. We’re continuously updating it based on feedback and the latest AI trends, making sure it stays an essential part of our AI toolkit.
We keep our approach simple and hands-on, actively using AI in content creation to set the example. Our AI enablement journey is just getting started, and the excitement keeps growing.
Inspire: We want to inspire a culture of peer learning. Our internal AI slack channel for the whole organization serves as a platform for Mironeers to share their AI projects, learnings, wins, as well as the lessons learned from setbacks. We’re encouraging employees to experiment with AI and share their insights, and celebrating them when they do. Additionaly we held our first AI conference internally, covering topics for audiences ranging from those who are just in the beginning of their AI journey to those with an advanced AI background. This initiative not only highlights the innovative work being done by Mironeers but also provides psychological safety for employees to explore and share their AI journeys. Our goal? Building a community of AI enthusiasts who learn from each other and drive adoption across Miro.
Empower: We’re equipping Mironeers with the resources they need to thrive! We’re rolling out powerful tools — including Miro’s AI features embedded throughout the Innovation Workspace, as well as tools like Glean and specialized solutions for specific functions. Although it’s early days, we’re seeing strong adoption of Glean and continuously exploring new options to meet our evolving needs.
Our approach goes beyond company-wide initiatives; we’re collaborating with functional teams to identify gaps and the right technologies to fill them, ensuring effective and customized AI adoption across Miro. We’re committed to empowering every Mironeer with the right tools for success, and momentum is building as we unlock AI’s full potential together.
And there’s more… We’re making AI an integral part of our DNA from the onboarding of new employees. They receive valuable enablement resources and access to our “AI Onboarding Buddy”, designed to help them dive in confidently. This AI app helps newcomers get up to speed quickly. The feedback has been encouraging: “It’s a huge time saver”; “It’s the coolest onboarding experience!”; “It’s magic.” 😊
We’re excited to empower our new team members to embrace AI from day one, setting the stage for their success at Miro!
Looking ahead
We’re just getting started and already learning valuable lessons. One size doesn’t fit all, and it’s essential to meet Mironeers at various levels of AI knowledge. While our general AI education has been well-received, we recognize that different roles and departments have unique needs that we must address.
We’ve discovered the incredible power of hands-on learning: our most successful initiatives have been those that enable practical application, so we’re committed to doubling down on that!
Our next focus is personalizing AI enablement for different roles: managers, specific functions, and beyond. We’re tailoring our approach to meet the diverse needs and challenges across Miro because our ultimate goal is to empower every Mironeer to thrive in this evolving landscape.
